This mornings conversation at the Bus Stop was quiet humorous. The conversation went from the recent foreclosure situation that face our community to laughing at the Bus Driver and his militant alignment of the kids as he directed each student to their seat. One of the mother said the Driver is in no joke this morning because is going through a divorce and needs his job. I made a wise crack about his wife foreclosing on their relationship.
Real Estate has always influenced my every thought. I can spot a trend in seconds and I know darn well when to get in and when to stay the hell out. Not all that glitter is gold. I learned that from showing properties in New York City. Sometimes I would take a family on house hunting and would see a house that was dolled up and the buyer would immediately fall in love with it. I, being astute would try to convince them to get a home inspection before the emotions got the best of them. Most clients would listen and others would just run with their new found knowledge….a shopaholic with approved bank funds. I loved real estate but hated dealing with stupid clients.
I view relationship to be just like real estate. There is a foundation in both and you being the builder of this relationship must craft a sturdy foundation. Everything starts from the beginning. When the filth hit the fan, you have no one to blame but yourself. People are note as cleaver as you think, your emotions however is always smarter than you. It is like a bondage that guides your every being. I have learned over the years to assess my comfort zone and evaluate major mistakes that I have made. I could never blame a woman for my troubles. I must focus on the man in the mirror.
Now that I am much wiser, I know the actions that I must undertake should my situation change. You too can do the same. With the recent economic downfall, many relationships are falling by the waste side. People are giving up and turning in their papers, so to speak, to get a better life elsewhere. What they never consider is the reason for their current situation. Like real estate, their is a reason why you received documents from the Court alerting you of pending litigation. It all surrounds commitment and your failure to fullfill your obligations. I am not that vein where I cannot recognize situation that involve fraud, paper trails and deception of real estate because I know darn well that they too occur in relationships. I am simply comparing the two.
You must be careful when deciding on your choice of who to commit to and what property to purchase. Both situation will demand time and some sort of expense. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to secure your future? Are you willing to remain as passionate as you were when you decided to get into this situation because if you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, then it is all meaningless and stupid.
